Official Announcement from the Department of Magical Games & Sports
Due to a number of factors (including last years bout of sickness related to the cold weather during training season) the Department of Magical Games and Sports has decided to re-structure the British & Irish League Quidditch schedule to which we have adhered to for these last 50 years. The new scheduling will be as following:
1st January, 2006: Training begins.
5th February, 2006: First pre-season games.
19th February, 2006: Last pre-season games.
5th March, 2006: First regular season games.
24th September, 2006: Last regular season games.
8th October, 2006: Semi-Finals - 2nd ranked vs 4th ranked.
15th October, 2006: Semi-Finals - 1st ranked vs 3rd ranked.
22nd October, 2006: Finals - Loser 2/4 vs Loser 1/3. (Determines 3rd & 4th place)
29th October, 2006: Finals - Winner 2/4 vs Loser 1/3. (Detemines Cup Winner & 2nd place)
To accommodate for the now-shortened regular season schedule, some Saturdays will have three games per day instead of the standard two.
The official schedule for the 2006 pre-season and regular season will be put up after the Finals (good luck to both Puddlemere United and to the Falmouth Falcons). If you have any questions, you may comment below, or send all owls to the Department of Magical Games & Sports c/o Marietta Edgecombe, (Second Assistant to the Head of the Department of Magical Games & Sports).

I admit, I will be more than relieved when the Finals are over, and the Department goes back to its normal level of madness. Then just a couple months and Quidditch is back again... but I will enjoy the month or so of relief that we get. Maybe I'll even take a vacation! You know... I can't even remember if I've ever- the last time I did that.

The Department of Magical Games and Sports is pleased to announce the four Quidditch teams which have made it into the British and Irish Quidditch League Cup Finals! They are as follows (drumroll, please!):
1. Puddlemere United [11 - 1]
2. Falmouth Falcons [10 - 2]
3. Caerphilly Catapults [7 - 5]
4. Ballycastle Bats [7 - 5]
The League Cup Final matches will be as follows:
September 25, 2005: Ballycastle Bats vs Falmouth Falcons
October 02, 2005: Puddlemere United vs Caerphilly Catapults
The loses of both matches will face off on October 09, 2005 to determine third and fourth place in the League Cup.
The winners of the above matches will play on October 16, 2005 to decide the winner of the 2010 British and Irish Quidditch League Cup (and the 2nd place team as well)!

Damn it, I can't keep denying it. It's not fair to Saoirse, and it's not fair to me either. I shouldn't have to lie. I shouldn't be forced into doing this by her, but I shouldn't have to lie either. I keep it a secret because I'm afraid of being hurt, but this way is hurting me just as much. I like the person I am when I'm with Saoirse. I'm not ashamed of that person, and I shouldn't act like I am. Maybe it's time I stopped hiding who I am.

I am so loathe to go to work today. Not because I have turned into some layabout who just wants to stay in bed all day, simply because I do not know if I can take another day of all the hectic activity. It will only get worse, I suppose, once we get even closer to finals. As much as I love like my job, I am certainly not looking forward to that. Sometimes I wish I could get paid to sing sit around and read for a day. That would be lovely.
Well. Off to the insanity it is, then. Perhaps I will actually get a break today...
